Kathy and several of her closest friends were planning a trip to New York City for her 60th birthday in September. That trip for Kathy never happened. However last week, Erin, Kathy's daughter, took that trip to New York City for the both of them. There is no doubt in my mind that Kathy was guiding Erin through the Big Apple and enjoying every moment with her. You will notice the bag on Erin's shoulder--yes, a kathy's bag.
Every time a kathy's bag is on a shoulder, Kathy is smiling from Heaven. She was doing a lot of smiling that week in New York City.
Kathy’s bags are beautiful, handmade carry-alls that were inspired by a woman’s unwavering faith and the never-ending love that is shared between sisters. Debbie Andrews of Spokane originally created the bag for her sister, Kathy Rivet, who was undergoing cancer treatments in Wisconsin. The bags are now a powerful reminder of her sister’s strength and the calming presence of God as Kathy faced her final hours.
We know only too well that what we are doing is nothing more than a drop in the ocean. But if the drop were not there, the ocean would be missing something!
