We know only too well that what we are doing is nothing more than a drop in the ocean. But if the drop were not there, the ocean would be missing something!

kathy's bag a MAN BAG?

A lot of surprises awaited us on a weekend get-away to the remote corner of northeast Washington. When we arrived in the parking lot of Sullivan Lake this gentleman was waiting on the shoreline with the transportation of choice to the the rustic cabin in which we would be spending the weekend.  Little did he know the story behind kathy's bag when he offered to strap it on his shoulder for his 1/4 mile trek through the woods while hubby and I paddled our way across the lake.  The next day I shared with him the story behind kathy's bag.

This was one the most relaxing weekends I can recall.  In the early mornings this lake was like a sheet of glass and I was happy to be paddling around with my kathy's bag at my side.

A helping hand was always required while entering and exiting the kayaks, unless you needed a bath.

This beautiful women is one of the kindest God-loving friends anyone could ask for.  She has blessed me with her friendship and has been gracious to share her children and grandchildren with me.  Our move to Spokane would not have been as smooth without her presence.  She is the wife of the gentleman who offered to carry my kathy's bag on the first day there.

Do we really need to head home?  This picture says it all........
We had a fabulous time.  Thank, Mark and Patti!
kathy's bag enjoyed the journey!

An Uncooperative Visitor in the Neighborhood

This morning, when I open my front door to go to church, there was one of these fellows in my yard staring back at me.  I asked him if he would wait while I fetched my camera and my new kathy's bag.  When I got back to take his picture he had wandered off. While returning from a baby shower at Hayden Lake this afternoon, I stopped by Coeur d'Alene Lake where I knew I would find a mouse that would be more cooperative in a photo-op with my new kathy's bag.

These two adorable sister are about to get very busy.
One is ready to bring baby Josie into this world
and the other is starting her first full-time nursing position at
St. Joseph's Hospital in Lewiston, ID.

Thanks for letting me spend the afternoon with you!  I enjoyed seeing and holding some new babies. Kathy always looked for opportunities to hold babies.

A Big Birthday Celebration!

As we celebrate the birth of our county today with families and friends
we also are reminded of those who are no longer celebrating along side us.
My prayer today is that while you celebrate
with great-tasting food, thirst-quenching drink and awe-inspiring bursts of fireworks in the sky,
that you look around at the people you're with and be thankful for their presence.

Look who's just about to turn 30!

Yes, this good looking man,
 Kathy's 1st born,
her favorite son,
the apple of her eye,
will be turning 30 tomorrow,
July 5th.
Join me in wishing him a very, very
Happy 30th Birthday.
He is proud to say he was a "momma's boy."
I love you Brian and am blessed to call you my godson.
